WE ARE DEDICATED TO PROVIDING AN EXCEPTIONAL, SAFE AND SANITARY RESORT EXPERIENCE - LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COMMITMENT TO CLEAN HERE

One of the things I like the most about Valentine’s day is how there aren’t really any cultural expectations surrounding it, unlike most other holidays.  You don’t have to make a big dinner, gather a ton of people from all over, or anything else like that.  It’s just a special day to share with someone you love, or even some of your best friends. It can be as big or as small as you want it to be!

A lot of risks can come with big celebratory holidays, especially right now, but luckily because Valentine’s Day can be whatever you want it to be, you can plan out yours to be as safe and simple as you would want it to be, so here are some simple ideas for this coming Valentine’s day!

Picnic

An old standby, you’ve probably already gone on plenty of picnics. It could’ve gone well, or maybe less so, but obviously the classic setup of a nice red checked blanket and a basket on a sunny day isn’t going to be what you’re in for because it’s still Winter!

Since it’s going to be cold outside, think about some ways to keep your date (and your food) nice and toasty.  Make sure whatever treats you bring along can survive the cold!  I’d recommend anything you can store in a thermos, so think soups, hot chocolate, etc. Bring along a nice big blanket too, one that the two of you can share and keep warm together!

Charcuterie

Charcuterie is one of my favorite at home date/dinner ideas, because it’s a very simple and easy type of meal that you can make as special or as simple as you want.  All you do is lay out various finger foods on a board.  There aren’t a ton of dishes to clean, since the two of you are eating off of a board with your hands, and there is plenty of room to make it unique and personal.

It also offers ample opportunity to flex your romantic muscles!  Just think about the simple things that your partner loves, whether that’s mozzarella pearls or a specific bag of cheap barbecue chips that you KNOW they absolutely love. There’s TONS of room for you to be thoughtful.  Charcuterie is a perfect way to make simple snacks feel fancy and romantic!

Local Hotel Stay

If you’re looking for a simple idea that isn’t just eating a nice meal together, book a room at a local hotel!  Even if you don’t have the time or energy to plan a whole trip with a ton of activities for the weekend, it still offers a nice opportunity to get out of the house and just go somewhere, giving you a nice change of scenery.  After the past year, I’m sure that anybody else would agree that any opportunity to get out of the house and just relax is an absolute treasure.

So happy Valentine’s day from the Berlin Resort!  Whether you borrow any ideas from here or not, I’m sure you’ll find your own way to make your time with your loved one or your friends as special and unique as your relationship with them!
